Our book this week, continuing on the theme of journeys and discovery is The River of No Return by Bee Ridgeway. This is Bee Ridgeways first novel about a man and woman who travel through time in a quest to bring down a secret society that controls the past and, thus, the future. Lord Nicholas Falcott wakes in a hospital bed two hundred years after he was about to die on a Napleonic battlefield where the Guild, a secrective organization that control time travel helps him make a new life in the modern world. However Nicholas cannot forget the beautiful Julia Percy now lost to history. Julia, the guardian of a family secret passed down from her grandfather, realises she is in danger when it becomes evident there are those who seek to possess her power to manipulate time. The Guilds rules are made to be broken however, and Nick discovers how to travel back in time to eventually reunite once again with Julia. Soon enough they are caught in an adventure that puts the future of the world into their hands.
