Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction 2015 Winner

Author Ali Smith is the 2015 Winner with her latest novel How To Be Both.

This novel is written with a dual narrative, with the interconnected stories of  a teenage girl called George struggling to make sense of her mothers recent death and an Italian renaissance artist, Francesco del Cossa, responsible for a series of frescoes in the Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara, Italy.
George is a girl with a boys name and whose sexuality is only just being explored, while Francesco is a born a girl who lives as a man.
Half of the books published have been printed with George's story first and the other half with Francesco's story first and in this novel the characters coexist, whether they are dead or alive. Both narratives are exactly the same in both versions.
