Staff Review

This month one of our staff members has read
the autobiography  Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen.
Thanks for the following review, it sounds like a great summer read!

As a fan of Bruce Springsteen aka ‘The Boss’ I was really excited to hear that he was writing a memoir detailing important events in his life. As soon as it came out I borrowed a copy from the library and started reading, excited to hear the crazy life of one of my heroes.
The book starts slow but once he gets to when he learnt guitar the book picks up and gets really interesting and fun. Bruce has a poetic way of writing which sometimes is confusing to understand in regards to the story , but as a whole it’s a very easy read. He talks about his upbringing, what influenced him to get in to music, how he got started, how he created those iconic songs we know and love, how he handled fame and what keeps him going as a musician. Once you begin you will find it hard to put down! He answers all those questions fans have about his early years and why he feels the way he does about his father.

You don’t need to be a fan of ‘The Boss’ to enjoy this read. It is a very inspiring story of a young man who had a dream and didn’t give up until he achieved it. You can see how hard he had to work to get to where he is and how much determination he has. I highly recommend this book!
